Tata Consultancy Services, which achieved in 2009 its plan of breaking into the world�s top 10 list of IT service providers by revenue, now has an even more audacious plan. The company wants to aim for the number one position in the global software services market.

In February, a team of over 500 top TCS managers from around the world met in India to discuss ways to achieve this vision. �The work on our new vision is still continuing,� said Phiroz Vandrevala, director at TCS.

TCS is yet to decide on a target date to achieve the new goal though it is not short of ideas on how to go about it. Vandrevala said the company has received as many as 3,000 ideas on how to take forward its vision. �A group is evaluating each of the ideas received,� he said.
