The Rs 1,000 crore Shiv Nadar University, founded by the HCL Technologies founder Shiv Nadar, would begin its first academic session from July. The university aspires not only to be among the top most institutes in the country, but also among the elite institutions of higher learning globally.

The fully residential multi disciplinary university has been established on a 286 acre campus and is a not for profit initiative, funded entirely through the money donated by technology czar Shiv Nadar who founded HCL Technologies and HCL Infosystem and is among the pioneers of the IT sector in the country.
