Cognizant offers jobs to 1,643 VIT University students

Cognizant Technology Solutions, the US-based information technology company, has handed over 1,643 job offers of the 2011 batch students of VIT University, Vellore
The software company created a new record in campus recruitment by picking up such a large number of students from a single college. The salary offered was Rs 3.05 lakh a year, according to university's Vice-Chancellor, Mr G. Viswanathan.
Of the 2,238 students that appeared for the selection process, 1,643 got the offer letters, he told newspersons recently. Cognizant offered job offers to students from all branches of B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, MS (software engineering) and M.Sc (CS). Amazon offered a salary of Rs 9.5 lakh a year, he said.
