FIR filed against former IGP MS Ahlawat for attempting to rape lawyer
Thursday, 10th June 2010
Yet another "tainted" top cop walks free in Haryana, with former IGP MS Ahlawat, under fire for allegedly molesting a woman in 2002, evading arrest even after an FIR was filed in Yamunagar on Tuesday, eight years after the incident.
The victim, Arvinder Kaur, had met Ahlawat in 2002 after she was threatened by some of the accused in a dowry case lodged against her husband.
"He (Ahlawat) took me to his bed room at his official residence of Yamunanagar where he attempted to rape me. However, I managed to escape from his clutches. So, he must be booked for attempt to rape in place of outraging the modesty of a woman," she added
