Deepanjali was with her boyfriend when their two-wheeler broke down on an isolated stretch near Chhatarpur.

Constables Kanhaiyalal and Arvind Patel snatched the mobile phone of her boyfriend. They then took the girl aside and forced her to strip. They clicked her pictures and also molested her.

Deepanjali told her sister went to the police station on May 24 to file a complaint. Chhattarpur SP, Prem Singh Bisht, immediately suspended the two accused cops.

The girls start receiving threatening phone calls.

On May 26 constables Pramod Tripathi and Ashok Tiwari went to the girls' house and told them to withdraw their complaints against Kanhaiyalal and Patel, threatening to make Deepanjali's MMS clip public.

The sisters consume poison. Tara was declared dead on arrival while the Deepanjali passed away on May 27
