Mother says no to pets, 14 yr old boy hangs himself in Bangalore
Wednesday, 26th May 2010
Little did 14-year-old Ashok’s parents know that their simple denial of keeping a pigeon as a pet would cost them their son’s life. The eighth standard student of BES school, and resident of Marenahalli, had brought home a pigeon on Sunday for a pet. However, his mother, Devi, refused to comply.
Disappointed, Ashok locked himself up in his room around 8 pm. It was only when Devi went to call him for dinner that she realised Ashok was dead.
According to the complaint filed at the Jayanagar police station by Ashok’s father, Kuppuswamy, Devi forced open the door to find her son hanging. Ashok was rushed to KIMS Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival, and a post-mortem examination was conducted there.
