Wednesday, 19th May 2010
A family living in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar has alleged their daughter-in-law gave them milkshake laced with sedatives and escaped with jewellery and cash worth Rs 50 lakh along with her mother and brother last week. Based on the complaint, the Delhi Police has registered a case of criminal breach of trust and is investigating the matter.
According to the police, the family of Har Kaur (65) and Surinder Kaur (60) shifted to Delhi several years ago from Kabul in Afganistan. The two women were married to Khem Singh, who passed away several years ago. Singh's elder son, Narender Singh, got married to one Meetu Talwar, who used to live next to their Tilak Nagar house. Despite opposition from the family, the two got married in 2002.
