Wanjale’s fascination for the yellow metal has earned him the nickname ‘gold man of politics’. However, the Khadakwasla MLA had promised his party chief - Raj Thackeray - that he would stop wearing gold jewellery after being sworn in as an MLA. But, recently on one of his visits to the Mantralaya to meet water resource minister Ajit Pawar, Wanjale was spotted by some television news reporters wearing his trademark gold chains.

In their bid to get a ‘breaking’ story, the reporters waited outside Pawar’s cabin to catch a glimpse of Wanjale. The MLA, on noticing that he would have to face the wrath of Thackeray, made a quick dash after the meeting. Wanjale, in his bid to avoid the cameras, was spotted running towards the exit with the channel crew running after him. The cat and mouse chase continued for a few minutes in the Mantralaya corridors before Wanjale realised that he had been captured on camera.
