CBI catches international fugitive Sergey Valeryevich in New Delhi

An international fugitive, wanted by the US justice department in several cases of credit card fraud, was arrested by the CBI after he landed in Delhi from Goa early this week. The accused, Sergey Valeryevich, a Ukraine national against whom there was a red corner notice, was about to leave for Istanbul when he was caught.
A request for his provisional arrest was also received through diplomatic channels for taking action as per the extradition treaty between India and the US. It was alleged that the fugitive and others were part of an international crime racket engaged in trafficking stolen and counterfeit credit cards and other criminal
