25-year-old Chennai man arrested for trying to kill grand mother

A 25-year-old youth was arrested from Chennai for allegedly attempting to kill his grandmother in her house here, police said today. The incident took place in May last year when the accused, identified as Nitin Sharma, had come to his grandmother''s house in Baljeet Nagar.
Sharma had demanded gold bangles from his grandmother, Kaushalya Devi, and on refusal, he put a cloth in her mouth and attempted to strangulate her. "She became unconscious and Sharma fled away after taking her gold bangles," a senior police officer said.
