A CBI court on Saturday sentenced former IAS officer Bikramjit Singh to two years six months' rigorous imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on the former principal secretary to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Singh was granted bail after furnishing bail bonds of Rs 1 lakh.
The former officer was convicted on Thursday. The court had held him guilty of owning assets worth Rs 24 lakh, which came from unaccounted sources.
