School watchman rapes 14-year-old blind girl in Mumbai

Pune: In a shocking incident a 51-year-old watchman attached to the Rajiv Gandhi Blind School at Solapur allegedly raped a 14-year-old school girl last week, who was visually impared.

According to the police the victim was allegedly raped number of times following which she became pregnant.

The police have arrested the suspect identified as Prakash Uttereshwar Nanaware, a resident of old Solapur Bombay Park.

The Rajiv Gandhi Blind School is run by former MLA Prakash Yelgurwar of Vikasnagar in Solapur. After the complaint from the girl, the school itself lodged the case in the Sadarbazar police station.

According to police, the girl was studying in standard five. Police said that the girl told them that she was initially raped in January this year. And later she was raped thrice for the second time on
