Man kills wife during honeymoon trip near Shimla

A newly-wed woman from Punjab was killed allegedly by her husband during a honeymoon trip here, police said today.
The body of Simranjeet Kaur, 24, was recovered from a forest near the tourist hotspot of Kufri on the outskirts of the city today, police said, adding her husband Simranpal Singh has been arrested.
The couple, hailing from Moga district of Punjab, were married in February and had come on a honeymoon trip to Shimla on February 22 last, Station House Officer (SHO) of Dhalli police station Balbir Singh said.
The two were travelling to Kufri in a car, when they had a fight after which Simranpal pushed Simranjeet in a gorge near the famous green valley, the SHO said.
