Sunday, 28th February 2010
Singh’s son Major Laishram Jyotin Singh, a doctor in the Indian Army, was among the 18 persons who were killed in the Kabul terror attack on Friday. Having put in a little over nine years of service with the Indian Army, Jyotin had gone on a foreign posting only last year. He was supposed to get married once he completed his foreign posting. His body is likely to arrive in Imphal on Sunday.

“He was a very shy and quiet person. But he had very strong determination. And he always talked about looking for a job in a foreign country,” said a doctor in Imphal who studied with him from Class III to MBBS. “He was very fond of football too,” he said.
