Deccan Chargers threaten to pull out of IPL
Tuesday, 16th February 2010
If Indian Premier League’s (IPL) governing council does not revoke the decision of moving out all the home matches of Deccan Chargers,
scheduled to be played in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, the defending champions have warned that they would pull out of the tournament this year.

The message was sent out by the franchise through a legal notice to BCCI and IPL, two days after Chargers were officially informed that Hyderabad’s four matches and Visakhapatnam’s two matches had been shifted. The matches have been given to Navi Mumbai and Nagpur in the wake of the Telangana crisis in Andhra Pradesh.

On February 13, a day after TOI broke the news about matches being shifted from Andhra Pradesh, Chargers received an email from IPL CEO Sundar Raman notifying the franchise about the revised schedule of matches. In return, on February 15, Chargers responded with a legal notice through its solicitors saying their ‘‘client regrets to note that the decision (of shifting matches) have been taken arbitrarily, unilaterally, without the client’s consent and in complete breach of the franchise agreement dated April 10, 2008.’’
