Accused Chinese refuse to leave Chattisgarh hospital
Wednesday, 27th January 2010
The three Chinese engineers, who were arrested after the collapse of a Balco power plant chimney in Chattisgarh's Korba last year, are yet to be sent to jail despite court orders.
The chimney of the Balco plant collapsed in September last year, killing 45 workers.
Soon after arrest the Chinese engineers complained of abrupt illness and started living in the Korba district hospital instead.
Korba chief medical officer Dr P.R. Kumbhakar says none of the seven are suffering from serious illness.
