A consortium of Times Internet Limited (Indiatimes.com) and Nimbus Communication has won the global media rights for Indian Premiere League (IPL) at a bid amount of Rs 261.6 crore. The rights have been given to the consortium for the next four years (2011 to 2014) for using media platforms like internet, mobile, audio, and television in specific territories outside India. Times Internet will own global internet, mobile and audio rights while Nimbus will distribute and broadcast TV rights in various territories outside India.
