Powerwave to hire 100 in Hyderabad

US-based telecom technology solutions/equipment provider Powerwave Technologies is planning to invest $3 million to expand its R&D facility in Hyderabad. The $591-million company (2010) would also be ramping up its headcount in India from the existing 240 to 340 by the end of this year, Mr Ezmarai Arbab, its Vice-President � Global Engineering and Emerging Markets Business Unit, Powerwave Technologies, told newspersons here on Wednesday.
�Our India R&D centre here is a pivotal part of Powerwave's global R&D. In addition, many Indian telecom companies are also our customers,� he said.
According to Mr Rakesh Sinha, Head of Hyderabad R&D centre, the centre had earned a revenue of Rs 33 crore in 2010. �By the end of this year, this is likely to go up to Rs 40 crore,'' he added.
